Facilities

Catering Arrangements

Water
Children are encouraged to bring a bottle of water each day to keep themselves hydrated.  There are also water fountains available in each cloakroom for the children to use.

Morning
Milk is available for your child at the start of the day. This is free for children under five years of age.  Payment for all other children must be made at the beginning of each term through the "cool milk" website. Children are also provided with a free piece of fruit to eat during morning break.

Lunch Break
The school is keen to promote healthy eating and all school dinners are cooked according to County guidelines for healthy meals.  The terms menu is located on the publications page. They are cooked on the premises and are currently provided at a cost of £1.90 per day.  Children may choose on a daily basis whether to have school dinner and will be able to make their choice of two selections of main meal or a sandwich meal in the morning. Payment is made on line. Information about online payment is available from the school office.  School meals are available free if parents are in receipt of Income Support.  Parents should apply to the school office if they feel they qualify.  Special dietary requirements can usually be accommodated - please come and talk to the office.

Packed Lunches
A
s an alternative to school dinners, your child may bring a packed lunch.  Once again we encourage our children to have a healthy lunch.  These should be provided in a packed lunch box with a drink. No peanuts (or peanut related products), sweets or fizzy drinks are permitted in packed lunches.

The children are supervised by seven dinner supervisors during lunch break. This includes help while the children are eating their lunch and then supervision on the playground whilst the children are playing.

Breakfast Club

We offer the facility for children to be left at school from 7.45amCurrently the cost of leaving your child in the Breakfast Club is £3-50 per sessionBreakfast is also available at the club for an extra charge of £1.  There is a varied menu for this club including cereals, toast, milk and fruit juice.  The menu is displayed outside the school.

Afternoon Club

This is a facility available to all part-time children.  It runs from September to December.  The hours covered are between 1pm and 3pm and the current charges are £6 per afternoon.  The children can be collected at 3pm or may then go on to the After School Club.  This club is run by the same staffing members.

After School Club

This is available to all children and is open from 2.50pm to 5.45pm during term time.  Children bring in a change of clothes and a packed tea, so they do not feel it is an extension of the school day.  Three members of staff arrange a variety of indoor and outdoor activities and supervise the club.  Currently the current cost is £9 per session.  Children who have attended our school and wish to use this facility for the first year at junior school are able to return.

Extra Curricular Activities

A variety of after-school activities are available for all children.  These currently are Spanish, football, French and art and craft.  These clubs are run by external trainers and there are charges for them.

Little Badgers

This mother and toddler group is open to all families with children who are registered with us.  They meet every Monday afternoon from 1.30pm to 2.45pm, term time only, in our school hall.  It is very successful and allows children to become familiar with the staff and the school environment. (If you wish to register go to
contact page).

Nursery

There is an independent, privately run Nursery within the school which is open each weekday morning and three afternoons per week, during term time.
